Robert V. DeMalia, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Tuesday October 6, 2015 with family gathered at his bedside after a period of declining health. He was 71 years of age. Bob was born in Worcester, the only child of Vincent "Jim" and Millie (Vigliatura) DeMalia. He grew up in Worcester, and graduated from North High School. Bob then joined the Mass Army National Guard during the Vietnam War and has lived here all his life. Bob worked as a sales representative and marketing specialist many years for the Arrow Composition Company before retiring. Bob could also be found, bartending to the customers at Cicero's Café. Bob is survived by his wife of nine years and friend for many more, Susan E. (Martocci) DeMalia; his five children, Bobby Jr, Michael, Robbie, Vinnie and Jessica; seven grandchildren, Katie, Michael Jr, Jacqueline, Olivia, Tristan, Cameron, and Adrianna ; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Bob was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, he enjoyed playing cards especially cribbage and rummy; Ping Pong, Bowling and Archery, which in his youth he won State Archery Awards. He also found joy with Susan, his grandchildren and hanging with his friends at Cicero's. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Monday, October 12th from 4pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 13th in the funeral home. Burial next to his parents in St John's Cemetery with Military Honors will follow.
