George J. Gingerelli, lately of Boulder City, NV, passed away on September, 30, 2015 at age 97. Mr. Gingerelli was born in Worcester, MA on December 10, 1917. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married the former Ida T. DiTaranto on February 16, 1942 and together they lived, worked and raised their family in Worcester and Holden, until retiring to Florida in the late 1980's. Mr. Gingerelli was an accomplished artist and worked in the printing business early in his professional career as a graphics designer, specializing in business letterhead design. He founded American Printing Company in the 1950's and, together with his wife, had a successful career in offset printing. They later co-founded GIG Printing, Inc. prior to permanent retirement. During his fifteen years in Orlando, FL, Mr. Gingerelli produced dozens of paintings in various media - oils, pastels and pen-and ink. He also became an avid golfer and continued to play golf into his late eighties. After leaving Florida, Mr. Gingerelli resided for a brief period in Santa Cruz, CA, before moving to Henderson, NV in 2001. A WW II Army veteran, Mr. Gingerelli relocated to the Nevada State Veterans Home in 2012, where he resided until his death. Mr. Gingerelli was pre-deceased by his wife of 66 years, Ida, in 2008. He is the longest surviving member of his family, having been pre-deceased by his sister Eleanor and his brothers Jack, James and Frank. He is survived by three children - Carmella Dautoff of Aptos, CA, George M. Gingerelli of Henderson, NV and Elizabeth Grigarauskas of Worcester, MA, six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a former member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. George's funeral will be held Wednesday October 7, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM. Interment with his wife will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
