Lucille M. Laplante, a lifetime Worcester resident passed away peacefully Thursday, September 24, 2015 with the family she loved gathered by her bedside. She was 91 years of age. Lucille was born in Worcester, one of two children of Albert and Clara (Grise) Laplante. She graduated from Holy Name of Jesus School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Lucille worked over 26 years as an inspector for the former Woodbury and Company before retiring in 1991. At onetime Lucille worked for the former Papercraft Company. Pre deceased by her only sibling Roger V. Laplante; Lucille is survived by her Sister In Law, Nancy (D'Andrea) Laplante; her nieces and nephews she dearly loved, Stephen and Kathy Laplante, David and Patricia Laplante, Linda and Mark Watson, Lisa and Stephen Genatossio, Scott and Lori Laplante; many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Lucille was a founding member of the former St Margaret Mary Church, a present member of St Anne Church in Shrewsbury and the Our Lady of Mt Carmel Golden Years. She loved to play cards, be around family during the holidays, special occasions and family dinners. Her family felt her not as an aunt, but as a second grandmother to them. Lucille's funeral will be held Thursday October 1st. from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St Worcester with a procession to St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd, Shrewsbury where her Mass of celebration will be held at 11:00 am. Burial with her family will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am prior to leaving for church. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Christopher House, 10 Mary Scano Dr. or the Jewish Healthcare Hospice, 629 Salisbury St Worcester 01609. The Laplante family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Staff of the Christopher House, for the care, comfort and compassion they gave to Lucille during a difficult time.
