James Kevin "Jim" Holland, 68 of Worcester died after a brief illness on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 surrounded by his family at Saint Vincent's Hospital. He leaves his beloved wife of 45 years, Anne Carol (Evangelista) Holland; two daughters, Stephanie Holland of Washington, D.C. and Marissa Kate Thomas and her husband George Edward Thomas, IV of Canton; his special recent grandson, George Edward "GET V" Thomas, V; two sisters, Ann Derderian and Patricia Sears. He is predeceased by two sisters, Mary Holland and Kathy Hurley. Jim was born in Worcester, son of the late James E. and Frances (Kroyak) Holland. He graduated from Holy Cross College and Western New England Law School. He had a private practice at 7 State Street for 30 years doing primarily real estate law. Jim took a special joy in helping people. He was devoted to his law practice. Jim was kind and caring to his clients who became his friends. Jim was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and served on the Board of Directors of Joy of Music. He loved to cook, plan family and friend get togethers, decorate, dance, music, read and travel. Jim's funeral will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church353 Grove St. Burial will be held privately. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Jim's family on Friday, September 25th from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
