Corey J. Rodriguez, 23, Worcester, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Corey was born in Worcester, Ma, the son of Sheila A. Duval-Wiggins and Jose A. Rodriguez. Corey was a gifted athlete, who grew up playing many sports such as hockey and baseball. He was a catcher for the North High School baseball team and the AAU Longhorns, where he graduated in the class of 2010. He subsequently continued his education for three more years at Worcester State University. Corey was working in construction as a laborer. Corey was also a talented artist. He enjoyed drawing and had a passion for music. He was an avid reader and he most of all enjoyed self-improvement books. Corey was an outdoorsman, who loved nature and camping. Growing up he spent many summers camping with the Antiochian village campers. Corey was happiest while he was spending time with his many friends and family whose lives he touched. Corey's favorite quote and believed his life so; "The World is yours; Get Lost and find yourself" In addition to his parents Sheila and Jose, Corey is survived by; his beloved sisters, Alexandria Rodriguez of Oxford, Emely Rodriguez of Worcester; a brother, Jose Ariel Rodriguez of Worcester; his love, Rebecca Lorusso and her young son Carter, whom Corey adored and treated as his own; his stepfather, David Wiggins; maternal grandmother, Jacqueline (Streeter) Duval; paternal grandparents, Jose and Bolivia Rodriguez; a nephew, Timothy Fournier; niece, Taylor Fournier; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. His maternal Grandfather Camille Duval and aunt Joy Duval pre deceased him. Services for Corey will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, from The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester with a procession to St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street where his funeral service will be celebrated by Reverend Milad Selim at 11:00 o'clock a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, September 23rd , from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Reverend Milad will celebrate a trisagion service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Corey's memory to the Susan G.
