Steven E. Marinello, 63, a resident of Worcester passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in Saint Vincent Hospital. Steven was born and raised in Worcester the son of the late Natale Marinello. He was a 1970 graduate of the Worcester Boys Trade High School. He was a plumber by trade and worked in construction of nuclear power plants throughout the United States. He most recently worked for St. Vincent's Hospital in the medical records department. He excelled in sports, mostly baseball and softball. He coached and umpired baseball and was an avid New York sports fan, especially the New York Yankees. He was a quick wit and always had a kind word for everyone. He loved to cook and will be remembered for his holiday feasts. He is survived by his two children, Michael Marinello of Hawaii and Catherine Marinello of New York; his mother, Joan T. (Vayo) Marinello; three brothers, Keven Marinello of Worcester, David Marinello and his wife Sue of Worcester and Paul Marinello of West Yarmouth; a sister, Linda Thomas and her husband Gene of Virginia; a granddaughter, Kaylie and many nieces and a nephew. Family, friends, and others whose lives Steven touched are invited to calling hours on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
