Jacob F. Hagerty

May 30, 1993 — September 5, 2015

Jacob F.Hagerty, 22, died peacefully Saturday September 5, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving and dedicated family after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Jacob leaves his amazing parents Vincent T. and Maria A. (Manzi) Hagerty, his devoted sister Victoria L. Hagerty, his Maternal grandmother Emilia Manzi, and his best friend Katie Melanson. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jacob attended Hubbardston Center School, and was a graduate of Quabbin Regional High School. He had a passionate love for Music, and enjoyed being on the computer. Jacob was an enthusiastic Patriots fan, and enjoyed watching them play. Although limited physically by this horrible disease our Jacob had a sharp mind especially for Music. However his most treasured times were those spent with his family, they meant so much to him. Jacob was taught from a young age to count his blessings, which he carried with him throughout his life. He was told the story of a man who complained he had no shoes until he saw a man who had no feet. Jacob laughed and smiled every day of his life. Joan Rivers once said "Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, but today is a gift that's why they call it the present. So be good to the ones that you love because you never know when the presents will stop coming." He will be greatly missed by both friends and family, leaving such a deep impression on everyone that he has met. Calling hours for Jacob will be held on Thursday from 4PM to 7PM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Funeral services will be private.
