Dolores "Dolly" Russo

Dolores J. "Dolly" (Capuano) Russo, 85, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015, in Holy Trinity Long Term Care Center. Her loving husband of sixty-one years, Joseph W. Russo, predeceased her in December 2011. Dolores is survived by her loving children, a daughter, Jennifer Russo and her husband Michael Sereti of Shrewsbury; twin sons, John J. Russo and his wife Kristina of Shrewsbury, and James W. Russo and his wife Terri of Northbridge; ten grandchildren, Angela and her husband Andy, Lynn and her husband Greg, Nicole and her husband Trevor, Elizabeth and her husband Rick, Michelle and her fiancé Kevin, Joellen, Daniel, Aimee, Joseph, and Lisa; a great granddaughter, Sophia; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Dominic, Benjamin, and Gloria Capuano. Dolores was born in Recale, Italy, daughter of the late, Giovanni and Philomena (Mastroianni) Capuano. She moved to America with her family when she was eight years old, settling in Worcester, she later graduated from Commerce High School, and later married her love. The moved to Shrewsbury in 1955 to raise their family. Dolores was a proud mother and worked hard to provide for her husband and their family. She not only worked as a talented seamstress, but she also worked as a sewing instructor for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. She was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Shrewsbury, The Twins Club, the Shrewsbury Women's Club, and she had a strong devotion to Saint Jude. Calling Hours for Dolores will be held on Tuesday, Morning, September 8, from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNEAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to church for an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Interment, beside her beloved husband will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
