Anthony T. "Tony Boy" Flaminio, 89 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Anthony is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna M. (DiPrato) Flaminio; two sons, John A. Flaminio and his significant other Bea Marr of Las Vegas and Thomas A. Flaminio and his wife Mary of Ohio; his daughter, Mary A. Goodney and her husband Glenn of Leicester; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by five brothers, Pasquale, John, Thomas, Angelo and Alesio Flaminio; three sisters, Marie Ruo, Grace Dalterio and Joanne Flaminio. Anthony was born in Worcester, a son to Italian immigrant, John and Marie (Bastardo) Flaminio. He attended Worcester Schools and has lived here all his life. Anthony later entered into the United States Army serving his country proudly during WWII. He worked as a glazier for many years for Pittsburgh Plate Glass before he retired. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Parish, Post 3, the Biscee Club, East Side Improvement Club, the American Legion East Side Post 201, and was also on the board of Governors at the former ITAM Club. He enjoyed golfing, playing Pinochle, and spending time with his grandchildren. Anthony was well known on Shrewsbury Street and spent most of his time there with friends and family. Services for Anthony will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Parish, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 25th from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
