Mr. Bronislaw Czynczyk, 98 (1916-2015) Bronislaw "Benny" Czynczyk of Boylston, Ma passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Christopher House of Worcester. He was born on November 20, 1916 in Swienciany, Poland the son of Franciszek and Jozefa (Poszkaniec) Czynczyk. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the Polish Forces in 1938 and 1939, during the German invasion of Poland. He was captured by the Germans and held as a prisoner of war at Stalag 6-F for 5 years, 5 months and 28 days. Upon his liberation, he joined in service with the U.S. Army Civilian Guard, protecting the supply and weapon depots with other freed POW's and American soldiers. He was discharged from the Civilian Guard and came to the United States in 1951 after being declared a displaced person, as his family farm in Poland no longer existed due to the War. Mr. Czynczyk first came to Worcester, Ma working as a carpenter. He met his cherished Irene, they married and in 1956 they moved to Boylston into the lovely home that he built. Mr. Czynczyk worked as a carpenter for White Contractors throughout Massachusetts and retired in 1975 following a workplace injury to his arm while working for Granger Construction Co. He continued to enjoy wood working projects, gardening and especially showing their Dalmatian, Sir Oliver. His cherished wife Irene (Agentowicz) Czynczyk predeceased him in 1994. He is survived by two nieces in Lithuania, Maryte Satkeviciene and Rukiene Elena. Many will miss him, especially his close friend and former neighbor, Joanne Gulbicki, who cared and loved him as family. Friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday morning, August 20, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment, beside his wife, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston.
