Jeannette E. Abraham

October 30, 1926 — August 11, 2015

Jeannette E. (George) Abraham, 88, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in Memorial Hospital. Her loving husband of forty-eight years, John R. Abraham, predeceased her in 2002. Jeannette is survived by a brother, Charles "Nunnie" A. George, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Worcester; two sisters, Doris Cote and her husband Thomas of Worcester, and Pauline Messenger of Beloit, Wisconsin; sisters- in- law, Patricia Abraham of Shrewsbury; Cecile Lynch many and many nieces and nephews. Jeannette was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Charles A. and Laura M. (Richards) George. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester. She worked for many years as an executive secretary at Riley-Stoker Company. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church; she loved the beach, the wonder of it all, and travelling. She remained active with her fellow Commerce Alum and was an integral part of their reunions. Calling Hours for Jeannette will be on Saturday morning, August 16, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Church, 256 Hamilton Street, Worcester; the Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
