Frank Scioscia,94, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday August 8, 2015 in the Shrewsbury Nursing Home. Frank is survived by several nephews and nieces in the Scioscia, Ferro and Hopkins families. He was predeceased by a brother Nicholas Scioscia, and two sisters; Theresa Hopkins, and Mary Ferro. Frank was born in Worcester son of the late Pompilio and Louisa (Allegretti) Scioscia and lived here all his life. He attended Worcester Boys Trade School. Frank served his country proudly during WWll and served in the United States Navy Submarine Service for 20 years. He worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before he retired. Frank was a life member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. He was also a member of the Italian American Veterans Post #3, the East Side Improvement Club and the Worcester Order of Eagles Club. Frank was a quiet man who loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed all the friends he had at the various Organizations he belonged to, and loved to walk. He will be missed by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held in St John's Cemetery on Wednesday August 12, at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and meet directly at the Cemetery in the St. Joan of Arc Section which is over the bridge. There will also be Military Honors present. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. is assisting Franks family with his funeral service.
