Catherine A. (Brennan) Gleeson

Catherine A. (Brennan) Gleeson, 79, died peacefully on her birthday Friday August 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Catherine leaves her devoted Husband of more than 48 years Maurice Gleeson, her loving children; Mary Blalock and her husband Ward of Newport News VA, Denis Gleeson and his wife Deborah of Nashua NH, Brendan Gleeson and his wife Natasha of London, Brian Gleeson and his wife Nihova of Tanzania, Africa, David Gleeson and his wife Carole of Nashua, NH, and Timothy Gleeson and his wife Amanda of Southborough, MA. Catherine was the proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Catherine is also survived by a brother Michael Brennan of County Mayo Ireland, and sisters; Maureen Duffy of County Roscomman Ireland, Eileen Brennan of Ireland, Peggy Zimmerman of Albany, NY, Patricia Newbert and Theresa Kittredge both of Philadelphia, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister Ann Finn. Catherine was born in County Mayo Ireland, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Eagan) Brennan and came to the United States when she was 19 years old. She attended high school at the Marist Convent in County Mayo Ireland. Catherine was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Worcester State Hospital for many years before she retired. Catherine was a long time member of the Church of St. Joan of Arc. She was proud of her Irish Heritage and was most happy being with her family especially her grandchildren. Catherine's funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00AM in the Church of Saint Joan of Arc, 570 Lincoln Street, on Thursday August 13. Relatives and friends are invited and asked to go directly to Church. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
