Stephen F. Bandilla, Jr., 77, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. His wife of twenty-three years, Linda M. (Chiras) Bandilla, predeceased him in December 2005. Stephen is survived by his children, Eugenia Bandilla-Perley with whom he lived, Doreen Lizotte of Millbury, Stephaine Gonelli of MA, Michele Lucier of Auburn, Jennie Bandilla of Auburn, Stephen Bandilla, III of Charlton, Peter Shays of Worcester, Stephen Rosenson of CT, Adrian Rosenson of North Brookfield, and Stephen Kirby of Auburn; thirty-one grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by six sisters, Nancy Bott of Sudbury, Veronica Montiverdi of Worcester, Kathleen Juskavitch of Worcester, Marianne Souza of CT, Irene Lopriore of Worcester, and Donna Bandilla-McLaughlin of Worcester. He was predeceased by a son, Harry Shays, Jr.; a grandson, Daniel Lizotte, and by a brother, Richard Bandilla. Stephen was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, son of the late, Stephen F. and Eugenia (Grabowski) Bandilla. He worked for over twenty years as a die-cast machine operator at D & S Manufacturing in Auburn, before retiring several years ago. He was a member of Saint Peter's Church. Stephen served his nation proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active member at the Marine Corps League in Worcester, and the American Legion Post 443 in Cherry Valley. He was also a member of the PNI Club in Worcester. The family would like to thank the wonderful people at Saint Vincent Hospital, Cancer and Wellness Center, especially Drs. Shepro and Brenner, and their amazing radiation team. A special thanks is also extended to Stephen's sisters, Kathleen, Donna, and Veronica, for without their help, his last days at home would not have been possible. We love you. Calling Hours for Stephen will held on Friday, August 7, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Peter's Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
