Bachir Hanna Tokatli, 89 of Worcester, formerly of Syria, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough surrounded by his devoted family. Bachir is survived by his first wife, Linda (Kaser) Tokatli and his second wife, Fatima Safi; ten children, John Tokatli and his wife Maria Antabi of Venezuela, George Tokatli and his wife Hilda Avedissian of MA., Elham Tokatli and her husband Richard Frye of AZ., Nicholas Tokatli and his wife Suset Mouslli of MA., twins, Samir Tokatli and his wife Christina and Samira and her husband Brian Scholfield both of MA., Nahla Paquette and her husband Edward of AZ., Ramia Wight and her husband Daniel of NH., Amira Apollon and her husband Rudy of MA., and Rula Tokatli of NH; nineteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Khory of Venezuela; two step-sons, Zouher and Rami Kherbeyek both of Syria; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Mounir Tokatli and six brothers. Bachir was born in Antioch, Syria, a son of the Late Hanna and Zairfe (Koury) Tokatli. He grew up in Syria and served the French Army during WWII. Bachir worked as a major contractor for important infrastructures in Syria for many years and was known as one of the top 5 contractors. He moved to Worcester in the 1980's where he has lived ever since. He was a member of Saint George Orthodox Cathedral. Bachir was a very caring, loving and giving father. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 9-10 am in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St, Worcester followed by his funeral service at 10 am.
