JoAnn P Kelley

JoAnn P. (DeVincenzo) Kelley, 78, of Worcester and Ft Myers Beach, Florida passed away Monday, July 27th 2015 with family by her side. JoAnn joins her husband Thomas M. Kelley who passed away unexpectedly in 1981. She was born in Worcester, one of two daughters of Italian Immigrant parents, Paolo and Frances (Amato) DeVincenzo. She grew up in Worcester and graduated from Venerini Academy. JoAnn then met and married Tom, and began to raise her family. While caring for and raising her family, JoAnn worked as a claims representative for the Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Company before retiring. After retirement JoAnn spent her time between her home here and their winter home in Ft Myers Beach Florida. JoAnn is survived by her three children, Nancy A. Richford of Tamarac, Florida, Paul M. Kelley and Matthew T. Kelley both of Worcester; four grandchildren, Thomas, Vincent, Tara and Katrina; two great granddaughters, Jenna and Summer. Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her only sister, Sophia Gardella pre deceased her. True to her Italian heritage, Joann taught her children that family was everything and celebrating holidays were special. The Italian delicacies and baked goods were her pride. She was a member of the Massachusetts Autobahn Society; loved all species of birds and traveled the world observing those different species. She also loved the beaches of Ft Myers, Cape Cod's Provincetown and Dennis, as well as working in her garden. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, August 2nd 2015 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, August 3rd at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Burial with her husband Tom will follow in St John Cemetery.
