Mary E. (Ciccarelli) Coviello, 85, a long time resident of Boylston passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center with her children by her side. Her husband of 57 years, Anthony J. "Tony" Coviello, passed away in 2011. Mary is survived by her daughter, Carolyn A. Coviello of Westborough, her son, David A. Coviello, his wife Susan, and their three children Nicholas, Benjamin and Jenna Coviello all of West Boylston, several nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by five sisters: Anna Valeri, Carmella Beressi, Theresa Meleski, Josephine Ciccarelli, Eleanor Johns; and a brother, Anthony. Born in Worcester, Mary was a daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (DeNapoli) Ciccarelli. She attended Commerce High School and worked for several years as a switchboard operator at New England Telephone and Telegraph, and L. Farber Company. Prior to retiring, Mary worked part-time for the Worcester Public School Department. She married her one and only love, Tony, in 1953 and they moved to Boylston in 1962. She was a member of Saint Mary of the Hills Parish where she taught CCD classes, and was an active member of the community helping out with the Boylston Girl Scouts and delivering Meals on Wheels for Elder Services of Worcester. Mary loved living in the home her husband built where she enjoyed the warmth of the sun, gardening, birdwatching, puzzles, sewing and cooking. She was a talented seamstress who could fix just about anything, and will forever be remembered for her famous eggplant parmigiana. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, her greatest joy came from being with family. "Nana" especially loved spending time with her grandchildren proudly watching them grow and cheering on their accomplishments. Her love for family, spirit, wisdom and strength will continue to guide us and she will live in our hearts forever. Marys family would like to thank her Physicians, medical staff and all who have helped in her care. Your loving support, compassion and the comfort you gave is deeply appreciated. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family during calling hours, Tuesday, July 21, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by her funeral service at 6:30 pm.
