Ralph J. Notarangelo, 87 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Ralph is survived by his wife of 58years, Charlotte M. (Murray) Notarangelo; a daughter, Janet Mancuso her husband Peter and their children Jason, Peter, and Gianna of Shrewsbury; nieces, nephews extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his brother, John Notarangelo and three sisters, Antoinette and Rose Nuzzolilo and Mary Notarangelo. Ralph was born in Worcester, the son of the late Lorenzo and Gelsomina (Solitro) Notarangelo and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School, and later enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country during WWII receiving the World War II Victory Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal. Upon returning home from war, Ralph worked as a self employed electrician for 15 years before accepting a position as the electrician for the Glavin Center in Shrewsbury for the nbext seventeen years before retiring in 1989. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, the Eastside Post 201 American Legion, the Greendale retired men's club, and Worcester City Electric League. Ralph enjoyed puttering around the house, golfing, travel and especially being with his family and most importantly his grandchildren. Services for Ralph will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. with a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9 am to 10:30 am in the funeral home prior to leaving for church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Beaumont Nursing and Care center, 378 Plantation St. or the VNA Care Network and Hospice, 120 Thomas Street in Worcester 01608.
