George D. Orrico, 88, of Worcester died peacefully Monday June 1, 2015 in the Worcester Health Center surrounded by his loving family. His wife Winifred (McTiernan) Orrico died in 2006. George is survived by three sons; Paul E. Orrico and his wife Trudie of Pembroke Pines , Florida, Mark Orrico and his wife Susan of Holden, and Brian J. Orrico and his wife Donna of Webster, Three daughters; Maryann Orrico and Joann M. Orrico, both of Worcester and Maria J. McDonald and her husband Timothy of Auburn. George also leaves two sisters Anna Delollis of Westborough, and Susan Anderson and her husband Lou of Vt. Ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by two brothers Frank and Paul Orrico, and two sisters, Camille Pariseau, and Adele Lemanski . George was born in Worcester son of the late Rocco and Maria (Carlomagno) Orrico and has lived in Worcester all his life. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School. George was a Navy Veteran of WW11 serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. George worked as a Machinist Inspector at the former Norton Company for many years before he retired. He was a long time member of Saint George's Church, and also the East Side Post #201 American Legion. George was also a member of the Norton Retiree's Club. He enjoyed working in his garden, and woodworking. However his most treasured times were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. George's funeral will be held on Friday June 5, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Saint George, 38 Brattle St. Calling hours will be held from 4PM to7PM on Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will be with his wife in St. Johns Cemetery. Members of the East Side Post #201 will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 to perform their ritual.
