Tom founded Worcester Mass Janitorial Service and operated the company for many years, before retiring in 2005. He had previously worked at the former Rutland State Hospital. He was a member of both Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Holden and Saint Mary of The Harbor Episcopal Church in Provincetown. He and his wife, Carolyn were very active in both of their Parish communities, he was a former vestry member of Saint Francis and together they supported efforts in PTown to protect the church building from beach erosion. He was proud to say that he was a friend of Bill for thirty-two years. Never looking to be recognized, Tom volunteered tirelessly for his church and other charitable organizations. He would lend his company van to Rachel's Table and Worcester County Food Bank, to transport food to those in need. He helped out at Saint Anne's Human Services, gave of his time at the Jewish Home, and enjoyed calling BINGO wherever there was a game for charity. His heart was always with his family, but he shared in any way he could, to do good for his church and his community. Tom was die-hard Red Sox fan and kept a "shrine" to the team in his home. He loved his dog, Katie and his cats, Red Beard the Pirate and Iggy. He enjoyed nature and the beauty God created on this Earth. He was an amateur bird watcher and was absolutely thrilled to watch the whales and dolphins off the coast of Provincetown.
