Janice (Strong) Crossman, 75 of Leicester passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 18th 2015. Janice was born in Lawrence, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Ria (LaGault) Strong. She graduated from St Bernard's High School class of 1957. Shortly after graduation moved to Northborough where she met Francis B. Crossman. They were married in 1958 and spent the next 29 years living in Berlin and raising their six daughters. Janice moved to Leicester in 1988 and remained there until moving to Millbury in 2013. Francis passed away in 1998. Janice was a stay at home Mom for many years but did work for Merry Maids from 1984-1989 Janice is survived by her six devoted daughters, Angella Crossman-Vanasse and her husband James of Bartlett New Hampshire, Vonevelyn J. Morris and her husband Randy of Marlborough, Vera A. Shortsleeve and her husband Michael Sr. of Barre, Lisa-Marie Johnson and her husband Paul of Boylston, Janelle L. Cutroni and her husband Timothy of Cherry Valley, Laurie J. Crossman-DiLiddo of Leicester; two brothers, Robert S. Strong in Southbury CT and Charles "Chuck" Strong of West Boylston; a sister, Judith A. Doherty of Leicester. Janice also leaves 12 grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Shawn, Amanda, Kayleanna, Ashley, Kristina, Justice, Brice, Cassedi, Haylee and Dominic; four great grandchildren, Zander, Lucas, Tanner and Zoey; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Janice was an accomplished Seamstress, who could sew, knit or crochet almost anything. Janice enjoyed Books, her Religion and Hummingbirds. She loved to cook and entertain her large family for the Holidays, special occasions and family dinners. The well-being and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren were what made her proud. Her family was her life's inspiration and joy. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, May 21st from 4pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Friday, May 22nd from the funeral home with a procession to Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.
