Edward P. Rezuke, Sr., 84, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 in Shrewsbury Nursing Home. His loving wife, Lucy (Pichierri) Rezuke, pre-deceased him in May 2003. Ed is survived by a son, Edward P. Rezuke, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline; a daughter, Lynne Sigel and her husband Craig, all of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren, Julie, John, and Angela; five sisters, Adele Haddad of Worcester, Nellie Lawrence of Sterling, Carol Fitzgerald of Worcester, Lillian Dorr of Leicester, and Rose Kelley of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a sister and five brothers, Mary Montgomery, David, William, George, Edmund, and Nasif Rezuke. Ed was born in Worcester, son of the late, Toffar and Mary (Debs) Rezuke. He served this nation proudly in the United States Army. Ed was a hard working man and was a die trimmer and metallic worker for over thirty years at Wyman-Gordon Company, before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the United Steel Workers Union. When he retired he worked for a short time at the former Home Quarters store in Shrewsbury, before becoming active at the Shrewsbury Senior Center, where he drove their van for many years. Edward loved to be with his family and enjoyed the many trips to beaches and to Cape Cod. He would find great pride in building model airplanes and cultivating his vegetable and flower gardens. Calling Hours for Edward will be held on Monday, May 11, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton Street, Worcester, where his Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, where he will be laid to rest beside his wife.
