Lorraine T. (Desroches) Mazzola passed peacefully on May 5, 2015. She was predeceased by her Husband of 55 years, John J. Mazzola who passed in 2004. She leaves behind two sisters, Eveline Robert of Leicester and Claire Wirf of West Brookfield. She leaves four brothers, Gabriel Desroches and wife, Mollie of Finedon, England, Eugene Desroches of Bellingham, Robert Desroches and wife, Joanne of Largo, Florida and Paul Desroches, wife Pauline of Hamden, CT. Predeceased are Brothers, Armond, Edmond, Ernest, Donald, Raymond and Richard. Sisters are Jeannette Robert, Constance Casey, Rita Nielson. She also leaves behind many Nephews and Nieces. Although she had no children of her own, she had a special loving relationship with all her nieces and nephews. She lived many years in Spencer returning to Worcester in 1949. One of 16 children, she graduated from Assumption Academy, Nicolet, Canada in1943. She worked several years at the former Town Broom Co. in Spencer then as a bookkeeper at the former Stevens Walden Co. on Shrewsbury St., Worcester until her retirement. Her most enjoyed moments in life were her yearly trips to Vegas with her Husband and the annual family reunions. Calling Hours for Lorraine will be held on Sunday, May10, from 3p.m. to 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Monday, from the funeral home with a procession departing at 10:30 a.m. to Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester, where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. With the wonderful care Lorraine received, we are requesting in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Christopher House of Worcester, 10 Mary Scano Dr, Worcester, MA 01605.
