Betty Lue Walker, "Momma Bette" or "Gucci Momma", 80, of Worcester, MA, winged her flight into eternity of Wednesday, April 29, 2015, after a brief battle with cancer. She died as she lived her lifesurrounded by family. She was known to many as "Momma Bette" and to some as "Gucci Momma". As a hobby she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and having a good time with family and friends. She would never say good-bye, instead her motto was "toot-a-lu". She had a love for butterflies, the colors purple and green. Betty was born in Brantley, Alabama, and lived there for many years, before moving to Springfield, MA in 1974, then moving and settling in Worcester, MA in 1980. She leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter Hattie Thomas of Worcester; three grandchildren, Stephanie Agbanyo (Ian), Kimberly Ramirez, and Carlton Kemp, Jr.; five great grandchildren, Nakia Heslop (Clovis), Desiree Candelaria, Zaire Candelaria, Shamarah Ramirez, and Kian Agbanyo, all of Worcester; two sisters, Lottie Mae Pruitt and Alberta Walker; a brother, Randal Walker, all of Brantley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; a God son, Terry Hamner, and a son in law, Jessie Thomas. Betty was predeceased by a son, Willie Walker at birth, her parents, Henry and Mattie Walker, four sisters, Marie Walker, Frankie Henderson, Mary Flynn, and Cuvee Walker; four brothers, Norman, David, Judge, and Lewis Walker and a great grandson, Jessie Carlton Thomas. Services for Betty will held on Friday, May 8, with Calling Hours from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
