Patrick L. Pickett, 84 of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at The Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. Patrick is survived by his two sons, Shawn Pickett of Auburn and Patrick Downing and his wife Clare of Maine; two daughters, Kimberly Eddleman and her husband Larry of Dongola, IL and Kelly Stevens and her husband Ken of Murphysboro; his brother, Arthur Pickett of Florida; six grandchildren, Austin and Ashlee Pickett, Dustin Hoffman, Kayla Clarke, Holly and Kim Downing; four great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Miceli. Patrick was born in Dorchester, MA., a son of the late Irish immigrant, Sydney and Mary (Kavanagh) Pickett. He grew up in Dorchester where he graduated from Dorchester High School he later took numerous different classes at Plymouth State University. He resided in Woburn and Billerica for a while later moving to Meredith, NH, Plymouth, NH and Auburn, MA. Patrick worked as a Machinist for over 40 years for both Arthur D. Little Company and BASF in Bedford retiring in 1991. He enjoyed going to the Auburn Senior Center and was a computer enthusiast. A period of calling hours for Patrick will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 from 3-5 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with his funeral service to immediately follow at 5 pm.
