Josephine M. (Desimone) Halo, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015, in Saint Vincent Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis F. Halo in 1970; and by their daughter, BarbaraLou in 1944. Jo, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, is survived by a brother, Daniel Desimone in Texas; two sisters -in-law, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, all whom loved her very much. Jo was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Andrew and Rudolph Desimone, and Rose Oroszko. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Thomas and Margaret (Raia) Desimone, and has lived in this area all her life. She was a quality control inspector for David Clark Company in Worcester, where she worked until she was 75. She was a member of Saint Anne Parish in Shrewsbury, and was very active in her community at the Shrewsbury Tower, where she treasured her many friends. Two of her passions in life included knitting and BINGO. Calling Hours for JO will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, May 1, from the funeral home, with a procession to Saint Anne's Church, 120 Boston Turnpike Road (route 9), Shrewsbury, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
