Angelina (Oliveri Johnson) DiPietro, of Worcester passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2015 with her family gathered beside her. She was 88 years of age. Angelina's husband Anthony DiPietro passed away in 1999. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sharon Handy and her husband Clifton of Worcester; Her grandchildren Michael Llyod of Worcester Michael Lloyd of Worcester, Cindy Kelley and her husband David of Shrewsbury, Derrick Handy of Worcester, Stephen Handy and his wife Kimberly of Barre, and Timothy Handy of Worcester; Her 3 great grandsons David Kelley, Brayden Handy, and Silas Handy. Along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A daughter, Eileen Lloyd passed away in 1997. Two brothers, Ralph and Joseph Oliveri Jr. as well as four sisters, Camille Carlson, Antoinette Frietsch, Lillian Allison and Marie Pacek pre deceased her. She was born in Worcester, one of seven children of Joseph and Maria (Shanemen) Oliveri. She worked at the former RH White Department store in Lincoln Plaza for over 25 years before retiring. As a typical woman of Italian heritage, her family was her life's inspiration. Her daughters, grandchildren and great grandsons were her world. Having them near her, watching them and sharing in those special moments were what made her the happiest. Nothing was more important. She loved to travel and especially to cook Italian delicacies and cookies; sharing them with family and friends. Angelina was a member of St Joan of Arc Church, and the Our Lady of Mt Carmel Golden Years. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, April 26th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, April 27th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:30 am in St Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial with her parents will follow in St John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts/New Hampshire, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, Ma 02472, www.alz.org/manh.
