Richard E. "Dick" Feeley, 89 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Worcester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by his loving family. Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Grace C. (Tarallo) Feeley; three sons, Richard E. Feeley, Jr. of West Boylston, Stephen J. Feeley and his wife Mary of West Boylston and James A. Feeley and his wife Rosemarie of Worcester; three brothers, James Feeley of Cape Cod, Paul Feeley of Worcester and Joseph Feeley of North Grafton; three sisters, Rita Stencel of Millbury, Ruth Walsh of Milford, CT and Patricia East of Florida; seven grandchildren, Cheryl L. Feeley, Andrew R. Feeley and his wife Emily Hollocher all of Worcester, Matthew S. Feeley and his wife Valerie of Marlborough, Meghan M. Townsend and her husband Sean of Auburn, Michael A. Feeley of Ayer, James A. Feeley, Jr. and his wife Allysen of Northborough and Jason Feeley of Fort Myers, FL; two great grandchildren, Lucas J Feeley and Madelyn Grace Feeley; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, John, Harold and Wilfred Feeley; three sisters, Helen Arrouquier, Mary Henning, and Kay Phelan. Dick was born in Worcester, one of thirteen children of the late James E. and Catherine R. (Erb) Feeley and has lived here all of his life. He graduated from North High School and later enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country during WWII. Upon returning home, he graduated from New England School of Accounting with an associate's degree. Dick was the owner/operator of several area businesses including Feeley's Fence Company, Johnson's TV and Appliances, Feeley's TV and Appliances and Lincoln Plaza Furniture. He later worked in sales for various companies in Worcester County. He finished his career with the City of Worcester operating the City Hall's Mail Room. Bored with retirement, he drove a taxi for the Red Cab until he was 81 years old. Dick was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church; he loved New England Sports Teams, dancing, and in his son Richard's younger days he managed his son's rock band. Services for Dick will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 am in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 21th from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to his funeral Mass.
