Willie H. "Big Man" Givins, Jr., 68, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 30, 2015 at home. Willie leaves behind his wife of many years, Kathie Sullivan-Givins of Webster; four sons, Brian Watson of Rhode Island, Willie Watson and his wife Melissa and Kevin Davis all of Worcester and Kenya McNiel of New York; nine daughters, Estelle Givins and her fiancé Roland Perry, Jr. of Webster, Sabrina Givins of Blackstone, Erica Givins-Brown and her husband Quiava Brown, Sr. of Webster, Shiella, Heather, Ashlee, Vertia and Felicia Givins all of Worcester and Nicole McNiel of New York; his sister, Creola Hutchful of Worcester; 25 grandchildren, one great grandchild; lifelong friends, Alice Watson, Ann Reid and Julie Hale; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter, Samantha Givins; his grandson, Robert Walker; his three sisters, Lillie Jones, Vertil Givins and Rosa White. Willie was born in Claxton, Georgia, the son to the late Willie H. Givins, Sr. and Estella (Johnson) Givins. He graduated from Chiefland High School where he was a standout athlete for basketball and football. Willie has lived in Worcester most of his life. He worked at Walmart for many years and was also the manager at Burger King. Willie coached pop warner football for the Worcester Vikings for several years. He enjoyed time with his family, watching TV, and playing his daily numbers. He also loved animals, doing yard work and he swore that he could fix anything! Willie was a Grand Marshall in the New England Chapter of International Free and Accepted Modern Masons. Willie's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours for Willie will be held on Tuesday, April 7th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
