William M. Pugliese Jr. 69 of Worcester passed away unexpectedly Saturday March 14, 2015 Bill was born in Worcester; one of five children of William M. Pugliese Sr. and Genevieve (Tomaiolo) Pugliese. He graduated from Classical High School and attended Worcester Junior College. Bill then joined the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Upon his discharge, William furthered his education earning his Electricians degree from Worcester Boys Trade School. Childhood sweethearts, William and Ann M. Gingras have been together their entire lives. They were married in 1968 and happily spent the next 47 years raising their family. Bill began his working career as an electrician, for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local 96, before accepting a position with the Massachusetts DCPO where he worked many years as a resident engineer before retiring. Bill is survived by the love of his life, Ann; his three children, William E. Pugliese and his wife Maureen, Thomas M. Pugliese all of Worcester, Christine "Tina" Pugliese-Savage and her husband George of Millbury; three brothers, Robert Pugliese and his wife Elaine of Worcester, Michael Pugliese in Chicago, Mark Pugliese and his wife Vickie of Shrewsbury; a sister, Mary Jean Villa of Worcester; four grandchildren he adored, Kayla Pugliese, Scott Pugliese and his wife Vanessa, Amanda Pugliese and William Savage; two great grandchildren, Ayden and Cecelia; Many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Bill was a member of St John Church, the IBEW Local 96, Electrical Workers Union, the Quinsigamond Lodge of Masons, and the Beach Buggy Association. Bill loved all types of music and played the piano, guitar, mandolin, and banjo. He loved to fish the beaches of Cape Cod. Ann and Bill were avid campers and would spend many vacations and days after retirement in the summer camping those many beaches. With a large family, Bill would always have his happiest moment when they were all together. Holidays, special occasions and dinners were special. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, March 18th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Thursday morning from the funeral home with a procession to St John's Church, 40 Temple St where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St, or the St John's Food for the Poor, 44 Temple St. Worcester.
