Eleanor N. (Marsella) Scott, 74 of Rutland, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at home. Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Kenneth A. Scott; her daughter, Kristin N. Brazel and her husband Shawn; her son, Kenneth T. Scott, II and his wife Nanta Hardesty; her sister, Deena Burkhardt; two grandchildren, Theia Harper Scott and Calvin Scott Brazel; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother, Robert Marsella and her sister, Marie Blanchard. Eleanor was born and grew up in Worcester, a daughter of the late Rosino and Rose (D'Angelis) Marsella. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and later received her bachelor's degree from Our Lady of the Elms where she majored in History. Upon graduation, she was a Sister of St. Joseph at Mt. Marie in Holyoke. She left religious life in 1970 and married in 1971. Eleanor returned to Worcester where lived for the next 26 years. She worked briefly as an administrative assistant and then took a leave to raise her children. When they entered school full time she resumed her teaching career as a keyboarding/computer applications teacher and bookkeeper for Notre Dame Academy where she worked for over twenty years retiring in 2004. She has resided in Rutland for the past 15 years. Eleanor was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Rutland. She enjoyed quilting and other crafts, reading and gardening.
