Drew A. Hampton, 26 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Drew is survived by his parents, Larry L. and Julie A. (Parris) Hampton of Worcester; a brother, Larry L. Hampton II of Worcester; a sister, Denise Warren of Salt Lake City, UT; his maternal grandmother, Joyce Grampetro of Worcester; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Guido Grampetro; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Alma Hampton, Sr. Drew was born in Worcester and graduated from Burncoat High School. He worked for his Uncle Allen at Pasin Associates Services in Virginia as a general manager. Drew's stay with us was way too brief; he will be remembered for his sense of loyalty and family above all. He loved music, his pets, video games and basketball. His dad coached him and groomed him into an outstanding basketball star in high school and the AAU circuit, for which he was very proud of. Drew was charming and had such charisma; his smile could light up any room. His friends would describe him as a kind hearted, genuine, and funny dude. If you met him, you wouldn't forget him. There wasn't a little kid that didn't like him. He was so particular about his style, he always needed to look "fresh", everything just had to be perfect or he wasn't happy. Drew will be missed by so many, but his life's mission was complete. Drew's funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 5th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to NA.
