Mildred A. (Pajala) Barsoum, 84 of Northborough, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2015 at the Coleman House, Northborough. Mildred is survived by her husband of over fifty years, George A. Barsoum; two sons, Steven A. Barsoum of Worcester and David B. Barsoum of Westborough; a daughter, Susan G. Milano and her husband Gerald of Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Stanley Pajala of New Hampshire and Arnie "Howie" Pajala of Worcester; eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Shackett and Sylvia Tebeau. Mildred was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Arnie J. and Constance (Linder) Pajala. She grew up in Millbury where she graduated from Millbury High School. She met and married her husband and they moved to Northborough in 1965 where they have lived ever since. Mildred worked for over 25 years in the kitchen of Thornton Nursing Home in Northborough. Mildred enjoyed the beach, her day trips with the Millbury Senior Center and playing Bingo. A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with her funeral service to immediately follow at 5 pm. A private burial service will be held at a later date in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
