Anne Marie Ruksnaitis

April 28, 1949 — February 13, 2015

Anne Marie (McGovern) Ruksnaitis, 65, of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, February 13th in the University of Massachusetts Hospital. Anne Marie was born in Staten Island, New York; her parents were John and Catherine (Lapsley) McGovern. She graduated from Marian High School, earned her degree from Worcester Junior College and has lived here all her life. With a degree in Social Work, Anne Marie worked many years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant for the Crawford Companies. She is survived by her two devoted sons, Christopher D. Ruksnaitis, his wife Kristie and their children Dean and Devin, Jonathan J. Ruksnaitis and his wife Allyson all of Worcester; Several extended family members and friends. Anne Marie was beautiful, gregarious, and charming. She loved people and was a friend to all. She had a sense of humor and wit that was second to none. She loved to play trivia games and was a wordsmith who never lost a game of Scrabble! Anne Marie loved the beach. She was a proficient swimmer and lifeguard. She had a deep appreciation and devotion for animals. She loved to entertain and cook for people. She had an altruistic nature that shined through. She will be greatly missed. "qu'est ce que" Funeral services are Private. Burial with her parents will be in Mount Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. Memorial remembrances can be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St Worcester or the St John's Church, Food for the poor, 44 Temple St Worcester.
