Ethel M. (Narsiff) Hanscome, 96, of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday, February 8th 2015, with her beloved son and daughter in law gathered by her side. Ethel was born in Torrington, CT, one of eleven children, of Lebanese immigrants William and Nezzera (David) Narsiff. She grew up and educated in Torrington, met, dated, and married in 1942, the love of her life for the next 50 years, Edward Hanscome. She then traveled with Edward to several different countries, as an U.S. Army wife. They settled in Abington MA, and began to raise their family. Later in life lived in Fitchburg MA. Ethel's husband Edward passed away in 1992. She leaves her two children Steven C. Hanscome and his wife Jane of Paxton, Patricia L. Reed and her husband William of Bowdoinham, ME, a sister, Whadia Ferris of Somersworth NH, several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. Ethel loved to cook and sing with her friends. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A memorial Mass will be scheduled for after Easter, at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Worcester. MA. Burial will be held at the Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 1 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis Tenn.
