Joseph Shea died unexpectedly in his home in Webster, MA on February 12, 2015 at the age of 54. Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years Linda, his two loving children Timari and Patrick, his beloved mother Helen Shea of Worcester, MA, his siblings Patricia Shea and her husband Glen Ross of Bowie, MD, Daniel Shea and his wife Betty Jo of Worcester, MA, Timothy Shea of Gaithersburg, MD, and Thomas Shea and his wife Deirdre of Worcester, MA and many nieces and nephews. Joe was born on February 10th, 1961 in Worcester, MA to Helen and Donald Shea. He graduated from Worcester State with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He married the love of his life Linda on October 19, 1985. Joe and Linda welcomed their daughter on August 10th, 1991 and two years later welcomed their son Patrick on August 8th, 1993. He was employed by Hanover Insurance Group for 20 years as the Vice President of Technology. He will be remembered as a hard-working, kind-hearted, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was willing to help anyone in need and was a constant source of encouragement to those who were close to him. Joe was a dedicated individual who was passionate about building a home for his family and strived to be a role model for all those around him. He was on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association and did a great deal of charity work for his community. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Wednesday, February 18th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. His funeral will be held Thursday morning, February 19th from the funeral home with a procession to Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. A reception will follow at The Manor in West Boylston, MA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe's life. Burial next to his father, in St. John Cemetery will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Webster Police Department and EMTs, 375 Main Street, Webster, MA 01570. Condolences can be sent to the Shea family. Linda, Timari, and Patrick would like to thank the Webster Police and EMTs as well as the caretakers at the Harrington Hospital in Webster for their dedicated efforts to preserve Joe's life as well as the empathy they showed the family during this tragic time.
