Carolyn G. Bishop- Hoover

September 28, 1930 — February 9, 2015

September 28, 1930 - February 9, 2015 Carolyn was raised in Florida and despite a lifetime of moves was always a Floridian at heart. She lived in at least 9 other states from Hawaii to Texas to Massachusetts, as well as several years in Mexico, and she frequently joked that her life had been a "moving experience". She was family centered and would move heaven and earth for those she loved. Like others of her generation born during the Great Depression, Carolyn worked hard at everything she did and achieved much. Married after high school, Carolyn returned to university when her children were in elementary school, eventually graduating from medical school in her 40s. She became a psychiatrist and practiced in Palm Beach County, Florida. She was a strong advocate for education, encouraging (some would say pushing) family and friends to stay in school and be self-reliant. She traveled extensively and relished adventure. She passed away at age 84 at her daughter's home in Worcester, Massachusetts, while recovering from injuries sustained in a fall. She is sadly missed by loving daughters Sharon Littell and Patricia Sutman (David). She was predeceased by Kenneth W. Hoover, MD, and by her parents Wilber and Helen (Williams) Bishop. She leaves 4 dearly loved grandchildren: Lester Littell (Casey), Carolyn "Lisa" Littell Courson (Kevin), Andrew Sutman and Eric Sutman (Renee). She was the adoring great-grandmother of darling Ayla and Vivian Littell and Hudson and Camden Courson. Carolyn is also survived by her dear brothers Dr. Wilber Bishop, J r. and Dr. Joseph Bishop, and a sister Lecta Johnson as well as many nieces and nephews.
