Dolores A Corbett

d. February 4, 2015

Dolores A. (Karem) Corbett, 83, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-two years, Michael F. Corbett, in December 1998. Dolores is survived by her loving daughters, Darlene Corbett-Hyjek and her husband Steven of Holden, and Maureen England and her husband Mark of Worcester; a sister, Tina Lungari of Weymouth; two granddaughters, Jylliane Alvarez and her husband Jose Luis Alvarez, and Kristina England; a great grandson, Josef Alvarez; her precious yorkie, Biscuit; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Blanche Williams. Dolores was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Louis and Amelia (Nahas) Karem, and has lived here all her life. Dolores loved her family and was a devout animal lover, but her work gave her a great sense of purpose. She worked for many years at Peoples Savings Bank and later in the Human Resources Department at UMass Medical School, for many years, before she retired. She was not one to sit back and relax, so she continued to work at UMass as a one on one advocate and personal assistant for patients, finally retiring last year. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Church. She enjoyed walking, shopping, traveling to Las Vegas and "The Wonder of It All". As involved as she was with work and her hobbies, she always found time to enjoy a Dunkin's coffee or special loving times with her family and her pets. Calling Hours for Dolores will be held on Saturday, February 7, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to Saint Stephen's Church, at 357 Grafton Street, Worcester, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
