Rose A. (Monfreda) Ricardi, 82 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Rose Monahan Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Frank and Natalie Monfreda. She attended Worcester Schools and resided in the Shrewsbury Street area her whole life. Rose worked as a seamstress for various companies for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the churches Golden Years Club. Rose embraced her Italian heritage, loved Italian music and cooking for her family and was the happiest when surrounded by her family. Rose's husband of forty-nine years, Michael Ricardi passed away in 2001. She is survived by her children, Donna Ceccarini and her husband Victor, Joseph Ricardi and his wife Deborah and Michael Ricardi and his wife Karen all of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Melissa Ricardi-O'Neil, Michael Ricardi, Kristen Ricardi, Erin Ricardi, Christopher Ceccarini, Lyndsay Ricardi, Anthony Ricardi and Kayley Ricardi; two great grandsons, Owen and Daniel O'Neil; many nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She is predeceased by two brothers, Frederick and Joseph Monfreda. The Ricardi family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Wendy Bergman for the wonderful care she provided Rose over the years and also a heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Robert Black and the dialysis unit at St. Vincent's Hospital. Services for Rose will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with her funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, February 6th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
