David A. Richardson, 91, of Worcester, passed away peacefully, on Friday, January 30, 2015, at Beaumont Rehabilitation in Westborough. David Richardson was born on September 4, 1923 to Herman and Sarah Richardson of West End, Anguilla. He graduated West End Primary School and furthered his studies at a technical school in Antigua; there he obtained a diploma as an electrician. He migrated to Curaao where he worked as an electrician at CPIM for five years. He returned to Anguilla in 1961. One year later he migrated to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands where he secured a job with Rogers Electrical Company. He worked there for over forty years, and retired twenty-six years ago. While in Curaao he met and married, his beloved wife of forty-five years, Ladian Richardson; this union yield six children, four daughters, Elvina Richardson of New York City, Audrey Richardson, Valaree Connor and Selma Richardson, all of Worcester; a step-son, Vincent Maynard of Saint Thomas, VI; son in law, Vincent Brown; daughter in law Arelis Maynard; eighteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sisters in law, Vencina Walters in England, Dorothy Clark in St. Kitts, West Indies, Hyacinth Walters and Patricia Bernier in St Thomas Virgin, Islands. Also left to morn several nieces and nephews in Anguilla, St Thomas, St Maarten, New York, Texas, and Atlanta; too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by a son, William and a granddaughter, Amoy. He was the last of twelve children. Funeral services will be as follows: Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m., all occurring in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
