Cynthia A. (Borek) Soloperto, 65, of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully, into the arms of her Lord, on Thursday, January 29, 2015, in the quiet comfort of her home. Cynthia is survived by her loving husband of nearly forty-five years, Sergeant Gerald F. Soloperto, US Army, retired; their children, a son, Daniel P. Soloperto of Worcester; a daughter, Leah M. Soloperto of Henniker, NH; a sister, Diane M. Parker and her husband Wayne of Worcester; four brothers, Walter S. Borek, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Worcester, Michael P. Borek of Webster, NH, Richard J. Borek of Hartford, CT, and Donald J. Borek of Worcester; aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces, and nephews. Cynthia was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Walter S. and Georgette (Haffty) Borek, Sr., and graduated from Commerce High School. She graduated, as a nurse, from Quinsigamond Community College; following graduation, she and Gerald moved to Phoenix, where they lived for thirteen years, where she continued her nursing education at Phoenix General Hospital, becoming a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career focused on prenatal and pediatric medical care. Having enjoyed their time in the sun, Cynthia, Gerald and their children, returned to Central Massachusetts, and settled in Southbridge, where they lived for twenty years, before moving into their retirement home in Sturbridge, four years ago. Cynthia loved her work as a nurse and caring for those around her. She was a dedicated member of Faith Bible Church in Woodstock, CT, and loved singing for her church. Her son, Daniel said it best."Now she's singing with the angels". Calling hours for Cynthia will be held on Tuesday, February 3, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 4, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a procession to the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon, for interment services.
