Anthony D Perro

September 16, 1934 — January 27, 2015

Anthony "Junnie" D. Perro, 80 of Worcester, founder of Perro's House of Flowers passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 27th 2015 with the family he loved so much gathered at his bedside. Tony was born in Worcester, the eighth child of nine children of Italian immigrants Antonio and Immacolata (Altomano) Perro. He grew up in the Grafton Hill section of Worcester on Norfolk St. graduated from Commerce High School. He went on to further his education by enrolling in Anna Maria College. In the late 1950's, always interested in floral design he founded and served as president of Perro's House of Flowers until retiring and turning the shop over to his son Rodney in 1992. Tony continued to live in Worcester. Tony is survived by his Love and devoted wife of the past 53 years, Donna-Lee (Tiesler) Perro; three devoted children that loved him so much, Anthony W. Perro of Palm Harbor, Florida, Rodney J. Perro and his wife Deborah of Worcester, Nadyne M. Perro and her fiancée Michael J. Bernier of Auburn; a brother, Kenneth "Kenny" Perro and his wife Jeannie of Pompano Beach; a sister in law, Anna Perro; seven grandchildren he adored and was so proud of, Sean, Joshua, Nicolas, Louie, Jessica, Gianna and Justin; two great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Four brothers, Richard, Angelo, Joseph and Michael Perro and three sisters, Rose A. Glidden, Yolanda Damato and Mary Gerardi all pre deceased him. Tony was a member of St Stephen's Church. He loved Hampton beach and made numerous trips both in the summer and off season to the Tidewater area. Tony also enjoyed occasional trips to watch Horse racing, visiting with family and friends, holidays and special family gatherings. He was so proud of his family and watching the business he started be carried on and expanded by his son Rodney, his grandchildren grow and succeed. Tony served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to UMASS Lake Ave. hospital staff, 6th floor ICU for all their care and compassion. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, February 1st from 1 pm to 4 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Monday, February 2nd from the funeral home with a procession to St. Stephen's church where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial with his parents, brothers and sisters will follow in the family lot in St. Johns Cemetery.
