RESCHEDULED SERVICES Anna Marie (Pedone) Silvestris, 95, a lifelong resident of Worcester passed away peacefully Friday, January 23, 2015 with devoted family members gathered by her side. Anna was born in Worcester, one of six children of Italian immigrants Frank and Raffaela (DelRosso) Pedone. Educated in Worcester and growing up in the Italian neighborhood off Shrewsbury Street, she met, dated and then married the love of her life, Frank A. Silvestris. Frank and Anna remained in the neighborhood to raise their family and lived happily together until Frank passed away in 1969. Anna began her employment years working for Henley Kimball Company, before she accepted a position in the Human Resources Department of the College of the Holy Cross, where she remained for over 24 years before retiring in 1985. Anna is survived by two sons, Maurice Silvestris of Allentown PA and Frank Silvestris with whom she lived; a grandson she cherished, Robert Silvestris; her daughter in law, Carlene DeLuca; a sister, Ellen Biancheria; nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her husband Frank, she joins in eternal life, her son Robert who passed away in 1985, her daughter in law Elaine Silvestris and her siblings, Grace Rana, Mary Arena, Yolanda Palermo, Julio Pedone. Anna was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Parish. A traditional women of Italian heritage, she loved too cook, host her family and friends for special occasions and holidays, tend to her garden and plants. She also found enjoyment in ceramics, reading and attending night classes. When her children were younger she served as the president of the Adams Street School Mothers Club. Anna's celebration of life will be held Wednesday January 28, with a period of calling hours from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., followed by a procession to Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, where her Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am. Her nephew; Rev. Monsignor Stephen Pedone will be principal celebrant. Burial next to her husband and son will follow in St. John Cemetery. Memorial remembrances in lieu of flowers may be made to the Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church building fund, 24 Mulberry St. Worcester.
