Constance I. "Connie" LeBlanc, a devoted mother, grandmother and beautiful lady passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 with the family she loved gathered beside her. She was 92. Connie, born Constance Ida LeBlanc on September 7, 1922, in Manchester, NH, was one of six children of Canadian immigrants Léo and Séraphine (Biron) LeBlanc. She grew up in Manchester, and graduated from Holy Name of the Angels High School. Always interested in Nursing, Connie subsequently enrolled in Notre Dame Hospital School of Nursing from which she graduated as a cadet nurse in 1946. She then accepted a position as a registered nurse in Notre Dame Hospital in Manchester. A few years later Connie moved to Southern California and took a position in Orange County working for St Joseph's Hospital. Prior to moving to California, Connie had been introduced to Laurence H. LeBlanc, a WWII G.I. and native of Worcester, who coincidentally had the same last name as hers. She corresponded faithfully with him throughout her stay in California, and after he proposed to her, decided to move back East. They were married on June 30, 1952 in Manchester, N.H. and settled in Worcester where they began to raise their family. Connie worked as an X-ray Nurse for the Worcester City Hospital before becoming a full time stay at home mom. Larry and Connie lived lovingly and happily for the next 42 years raising their family until Laurence passed away in 1994. She continued to live in the family home until recently. Connie is survived by her four devoted sons, René O. LeBlanc and his wife Maria of Spring Hill, Florida, George L. LeBlanc and his wife Lynn of Westford, Charles L. LeBlanc and his wife Annalisa of Worcester, Laurence H. LeBlanc Jr. and his wife Madeleine of Rutland; five grandchildren whom Connie cherished and who called her "Mémre": Andrea, Danielle, Marc, Nicole and Rachel; and a great granddaughter, Allison. Connie is also survived by her two brothers, Sylvio LeBlanc and his wife Lucille, and Raymond LeBlanc; a sister, Pauline Biggerstaff; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother, Maurice LeBlanc and sister, Yvette Provencher both pre-deceased her. Connie's life was grounded by her Catholic faith and she was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. Connie spoke French fluently and had a lifelong love for her French Canadian heritage. She cherished family reunions in Manchester, NH and spending time at the beach in her trailer in York Beach Maine. She loved to travel and played a mean game of Cribbage, a game she taught to all of her children and grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Sunday January 25th from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Monday, January 26th from the funeral home with a procession to Notre Dame du Lac Chapel, 555 Plantation St where her Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial next to her husband, Laurence will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Notre Dame du Lac assisted living or long term care center, 555 Plantation St Worcester.
