Giuseppa Maria (Altomari) Feraco, 79, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Her husband, Luigi Feraco, predeceased her in 2007. Giuseppa is survived by her loving children, a daughter, Filomena "Grace" Feraco of Salerno, Italy; a son, Giuseppe "Joe" Feraco of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. Giuseppa was born in Acri (Province of Cosenza), Italy, and was the daughter of the late, Domenico and Anna (Lupinacci) Altomari. She grew up and was educated in Italy, before moving to Worcester in 1969. Giuseppa was a loving mother, who sacrificed for her family and promoted the importance of a good education for her children, as well as for her nephews and nieces. She was not afforded the opportunity to further her education, but instead instilled in the minds of her children that they could be and do whatever they desired. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel- Saint Ann Parish and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her children. Her work as a seamstress kept her in tune with the ever-changing fashion trends, and she delighted in talking fashion with her daughter. Her children came first in her world; everything else was simply a bonus. Calling hours for Giuseppa will be held on Friday, January 23, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, January 24, from the funeral home, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Parish, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. Flowers may be sent or donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Restoration Fund, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
