Michael J. "Tycho" Campbell, 55 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after a long battle with cancer. Michael is survived by his daughter, Carmella Campbell and her mother Margaret Olivieri both of Worcester; a brother, Stephen L. Campbell and his wife Kathy of Charlton; two sisters, Patti Barry of Florida and Ellen J. McGovern and her husband Brian of Shrewsbury; three nephews, John Campbell of Charlton, Colin McGovern of Shrewsbury and Matthew McDuff of Florida; two nieces, Anna McGovern of Shrewsbury and Haleigh McDuff of Florida. Michael was born in Worcester, a son of the late John F. Campbell, III and Jean L. (Bush) Campbell. He graduated from Saint John's High School in 1977. Michael received an associate's degree in business from Assumption College and played basketball for the college. Michael worked as a manager of Ocean State Job Lot. He previously worked as a manager for Building 19 and Kangaroo Crossing for many years. Michael was an avid sports fan especially golf who enjoyed Heritage Country Club and Pleasant Valley Country Club where he caddy for many years with his friends growing up. Services for Michael will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
