March 16, 1924 — January 8, 2015

Gloria J. (Mandella) DeLuca,90, of Millbury, died peacefully Thursday January 8, 2015. Her husband Frank DeLuca died in 2000. Gloria is survived by two daughters; Annamae Nathenson and her husband Eugene of La Quinta California, and Cynthia R. DiPilato of Millbury,and David DiPilato, two loving granddaughters, Vanessa R. Sheehan and her husband Eric, and Briana R. DiPilato and her fiancé John Capistran, many nephews and nieces among them her loving niece Susan Carig. Gloria was predeceased by 5 brothers; Matthew, Joseph, Anthony, Paul, and Albert Mandella, and 4 sisters, Marie LoBello,Helen Patriarca, Rose Yacuzzi, and Florence Carig. Gloria was born in Worcester daughter of the late Vincenzo and Josephine (Mercurio) Mandella and lived in Millbury most of her life. She enjoyed being a Homemaker for her family. She attended the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and also the Church of St. Brigid in Millbury. She volunteered for the Rosary Ministry at St.Brigid where she made over a thousand Rosaries and also knitted many prayer shawls for the sick. She was a former member of the Mt. Carmel Golden Years Club. Being a traditional Italian Mother and Grandmother she loved to Cook, Bake, and really enjoyed being with her family. Gloria enjoyed life and was always a sociable person. She loved playing cards,doing puzzles and conversing with friends.She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Gloria's funeral will be held Tuesday January 13, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury. Contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church Renovation Fund at the above address or St. Brigid Church 59 Main St, Millbury MA. or to the Compassionate Care Foundation 248 E.
