Statia (Kupiec) Greece 84 SUTTON - Statia M. (Kupiec) Greece, 84, of Eight Lots Road passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8th surrounded by her loving family at the Worcester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Worcester. Statia is predeceased by her husband Jack, who passed away June 26, 2006, her first husband Michael E. Stefanik, Sr., two sisters Stella Rybicki and Jane Tabor. Statia is survived by her son Michael E. Stefanik, Jr. and his wife Elaine from Marlborough, a granddaughter Tamsyn R. Thompson and her husband Robert, a great granddaughter Shelby B. Thompson all from Centerville. Nieces Maryanne Racorvitz and her husband Michael from Chapachet RI, Juliana Rybicki and her husband Albert from Grafton. Nephews Gary Rybicki and his wife Karen of Upton, Allen Rybicki and his wife Janice, Steven Rybicki and his wife Barbara a great niece and many great nephews. She also leaves brother-in-laws Bernard Greece and his wife Evelyn from Worcester, Nathan Greece and his wife Davi from California, a niece Debbie Greece of Worcester also nephews David Greece and his wife Ava, Howard Greece and a great nephew Eric Greece. Statia was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Popek) Kupiec, she was born August 20th, 1930 in Grafton, Massachusetts. She graduated from Grafton High School before working as a retail bookkeeper for the Telegram and Gazette for 15 years. Statia and her husband Jack bought the Donut Villa in Millbury and worked there many years before buying Helen's Bakery in Worcester and worked there until retirement. Most of all Statia loved and cherished the time she spent with her granddaughter Tamsyn through the years. She loved helping Jack work in their meticulous manicured yard and vegetable garden. Statia also loved the many great times she had with her family and friends at all of her famous pool parties. She also enjoyed traveling abroad to many European countries with her husband Jack. Statia loved spending every winter at their condo in Largo, Florida. They enjoyed walking the Indian Rocks beach hand in hand every morning. Funeral services for Statia will be held Sunday, January 11th at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Holy Society Cemetery, Leicester. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Worcester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for their outstanding and compassionate care for the last two years.
