Matthew L. Guardino

Matthew L. Guardino, of Worcester, a loving husband, father and son passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was 28 years old. He is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie (Mula) Guardino; his daughter, Angelina A. Guardino both of Worcester; his mother, Anna Guardino of Savannah, Georgia; a sister, Katherine Guardino, and a brother Joseph Guardino both of Savannah, Georgia; his maternal grandfather, Leonardo Guardino of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; step father Gregory Watkins of Corning, NY; nephew, Nolan Haar of Portland, Maine; uncle, Dr. Peter LaBarbera Sr. and aunt, Mary LaBarbera; and cousins, Peter LaBarbera Jr., Teresa Dufour and Rachel LaBarbera of Connecticut; mother-in-law, Cynthia E. Wigginton, father-in-law, John D. Wigginton; father-in-law, Louis W. Mula; sister and brother in laws Kelly J. Haar and Nicholas P. Haar. He is predeceased by his father, James J Killela Jr. and grandmother Angelina Guardino. Matthew was born in New Jersey and has lived in Worcester most of his life. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Elmira, NY and earned a Bachelor's Degree in History from the College of the Holy Cross. He was currently working as a RCM account manager for eClinicalWorks. Matt loved many things in addition to his family and his dog Cutesy such as being outdoors to hike and fish, his jeep, rocking out to country music and playing his guitar. He had an excellent sense of humor, loved to read (especially about zombies and piracy) and also was an avid writer frequently posting on Reddit. He was a collector of watches, knives and swords. His favorite foods were protein and biscuits. Matt was a one of a kind person and touched the hearts of everyone he met. He was the best father and husband and everyone who had the chance to meet Matt were very lucky. His spirit will live on through his daughter. Family, friends, and others whose lives Matt touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Matt's funeral service will follow after calling hours at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
