Dominic M. Lombardi, 91, of Boylston formerly of Worcester died peacefully Thursday December 18, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Dominic, an Army veteran of World War 11, leaves four children: Robert D. Lombardi of Boylston; Janet L. Lombardi of Boylston. Richard M. and his wife Julia A. Lombardi of Marlborough; Kenneth, and his wife Melanie A. Lombardi of Boylston; seven grandchildren, Alana, Lauren, Joseph, Nicholas, Michael, Christina, and Analisa, and nephews and nieces. His wife of 67 years, Yolanda "Vi" (Catino) Lombardi died 28 days earlier on November 20, 2014. He was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, Patsy, Michael, John; and five sisters, Lena Simmons, Eva Shooshan, Constance Marino, Florence Richner, and Catherine Isaac. Dominic retired from the Former Digital Equipment Corporation and also had a career as a builder and real estate broker. In his earlier years following his honorable discharge from the Army, he owned and operated the first television sales and service store in Worcester. While in the Army during World War 11 he was stationed and fought in North Africa, Italy, and Japan. Dominic was a graduate of Wentworth Institute, Worcester Junior College, and Portia Law School. He was an accomplished amateur crooner, and participated in several music competitions, including a concert at Radio City Music Hall. His singing voice was often compared to that of Bing Crosby his idol. He was a devoted husband and father and was an avid golfer. He was happiest though surrounded by his loving wife, adoring children, and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Dominic was a long time member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. Dominic's funeral service will be held Tuesday December 23, at 12 Noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A period of visitation with the family will be held from 10AM to Noon prior to the service.
